Name: Matthew Daniels
Codename: Imprint
Identity: know soley as "Imprint" and rarely reveals his real name.
Age: 15
Hair color: dirty blond
Eye color: black
Height: 5' 7''
Weight: 125 lbs.
Personality: reclusive and lonely. He has been denied the basic social growth that "normal" children of a more peaceful time enjoy. Becasue of this he is very withdrawn and unfriendly.
Appearance: he has dirty blond hair that is somewhat long and choppy and falls in front of his eyes. He isn't short, but he isn't very tall either. He is slim and toned.
Mutation: First off, Imprint has black eyes, a physical sign that he is a mutant. He also has three fingers other than his thumb on each hand. But, mutated temporal lobes in his brain give him low-grade telepathy. At the age of 13 he realized that he had the ability to "imprint" new memories in the minds of intelligent life and he could whipe clean memories that were already there. He can "surface scan" also, providing a limited form of mind reading.
Skills: having lived on the streets for most of his life he has developed the ability to basically be invisible. He has the uncanny ability to make people not notice him, whether this is done with his telepathy is unknown as of now. However, he is also a very skilled theif and his reflexes have been honed in order for him to survive.
Interests: Imprint is very interested in survival, to say the least. He finds running an ideal hobby, being as he has done it most of his life, and he loves to make a good steal.
Bio: Born into an average middle class family in San Francisco he was immedietly shunned. As a child he had black eyes and only three fingers. His father and mother were both horrified by the creation they had made. Matt's father went insane with anger and tried to even kill the child, but his mother saved him by escaping in the night and leaving him on the steps of a local church. A nun found him in the morning and believed him to be a baby demon. However, she was a troubled woman and decided to raise him in order to attone for her sins. Her name was Sister Mary Anne and she soon grew to love the child. Matt's mother had left him with a birth certificate and so Sister Mary Anne knew who he was, although she had nicknamed him Gabriel. She took the time to teach and nurture the boy, even though terrorism was beginning to take its hold over the nation and mutants were considered to be "untrustworthy." And so Matt (Gabriel) grew up in the church until he was 13 years old. It was then that San Francisco was attacked by mutant terrorists and all the inhabitants were forced to flee. The city fell into chaos and Matt discovered Sister Mary Anne cut and bleeding in front of the alter in his church. He watched her die, her head craddled in his lap. In the last few minutes of her life she told him where she kept his birth certificate, and Matt found the old crummpled paper in the rectory desk. Angry and alone he took to the streets. Within weeks he began to experience extreme headaches which were so bad that he felt as if he would die. In reality it was actually his temporal lobes which were mutating. In a matter of weeks the headaches had gone away and were replaced with the ability to know what people were thinking. He soon realized that if he concentrated hard enough he was able to make people think and forgeth things. When approached by a gang of mutants who asked for his name he responded with "Imprint." The group of mutant runaways accepted him and his gifts came in handy. He was taught to steal and blend in with his surroundings. Imprint excelled in both. He followed the band out of crazy California and into the Mid-west were they took a train to New York. Here he and his mutant cronies attempted to find a better life. In New York City his gang was attacked by mutants who dwelled in the sewers resulting in the loss of many of his friends. Further lost and discouraged he was taken in by a woamn who bought him a ticket to a bus. She said the bus would take him "where he needed to go." And so he found himself at the Xavier Institute. As a runaway he is still looking for a home, and maybe this will be his...

Imprint walked alone down a dark alley. The shadows seemed to withdraw from his steps as he carefully skidded by a homeless man who lay asleep on a pile of rubbage. This was not the life he wanted to live. Imprint wished he could be back at the church, back in his warm bed next to the hot fire, back where the sound of church music filled his ears, back where he was with someone who cared. But that life was long ago. Now he was alone, walking down the street with only his own abilities to protect him. Luckily, a few weeks ago he learned he had amazing abilities that he had never imagined possible. As he walked past the homeless man he allowed his mind to flow freely, making the man dream of a peaceful meadow, something Imprint himself would never see. The thought bothered him, but he didn't have time to dawdle, he felt his senses spark to attention and left his day dreaming just in time to see a teenage boy taking food out of the garbage.
"Hey," he said to Imprint. "You look hungry, do you want any?"
Imprint looked around him, thinking that the boy couldn't possibly be talking to him. "Umm...me...yeah, sure."
The boy waved Imprint over and smiled. Imprint was hesitant at first, his black eyes and three fingers often made people uneasy.
"It's alright dude," the boy said. "My friend over there can read minds and she says your alright. My name is Dwindle, and I'm a mutant too."
Imprint smiled and walked over, the boy moved aside and revealed a few more teenagers sitting along the building side. They looked at him and didn't shy away from his obvious differences. Imprint smiled slightly, feeling more at ease. Maybe he stood a chance...
